I would highly recommend not buying anything that’s open box at the store, especially if you’re driving down and expecting it to be a good condition the store overly grades their quality of items as better than they actually are, and then the manager named art will never budge and has no good customer service skills in resolving the issue. zero eye contact. barely acknowledged me as a human

I had a very poor experience at this Best Buy, specifically with the manager, Art.
I drove about an hour to purchase an open-box iPad that was listed as “like new.” When I arrived, the iPad had no box, no accessories, and was covered in smudges. At minimum, I expected a “like new” item to be clean, properly presented, and accurately described.
When I raised the issue, Art showed no real customer service skills or empathy. He barely acknowledged the inconvenience and gave the impression that my options were essentially to take it or leave it. I asked whether the price could be adjusted to reflect a more accurate condition, such as fair condition, but he refused to make any reasonable accommodation.
The rest of the associates also seemed disengaged and uninterested in helping. The overall experience felt careless, dismissive, and completely inconsistent with what a customer should expect when making the effort to come into the store.
Open-box items should be graded honestly, cleaned before pickup, and handled with basic professionalism when there is a mismatch between the listing and the actual product. This experience made it very clear why many customers avoid in-store retail when online options are often easier and more transparent.
