Absolutely terrible experience with Best Buy!! I purchased an "Apple - Refurbished Excellent - iPhone 14" for a family member who lives abroad because I trusted Best Buy's reputation. The phone arrived with only 77% battery health, which is unacceptable for a device advertised as being in "Excellent" condition. I complained at the time and was offered only a 10% refund. By then, I was already in Argentina and had given the phone to my family member, making a return extremely difficult. The offer was insulting given the condition of the device. Now, when my family member took the phone to an official Apple Store to replace the battery, we discovered an even bigger issue: Apple informed them that the phone had been altered and contained a non-genuine screen. As a result, Apple could not service the device. The seller was Wireless Source, but Best Buy is the platform that advertised and sold this product. Customers trust Best Buy to stand behind the products offered on its website. A phone marketed as "Apple - Refurbished Excellent" should not have 77% battery health, nor should it contain unauthorized replacement parts that prevent Apple from servicing it. I trusted Best Buy enough to recommend it to my family member, and that trust was completely misplaced. Best Buy should be thoroughly vetting the products and sellers on its marketplace instead of allowing customers to discover these problems. I am also attaching a screenshot showing that Best Buy labels third-party sellers as "Trusted Seller." Unfortunately, I relied on that designation and did not investigate further before purchasing. Looking more closely now, I can see a previous review reporting an iPhone with non-genuine screen. unacceptable!

Poor customer service. When making a 1k+ purchase, should I wait until a holiday to wait for a sale? BB, don't worry we will match the price if the price drops so you are fine purchasing today, just come back in and let me (sales person) know. A lot of details left out . . . Forget to mention that your price match guarantee is only valid if you come in/inform Best Buy within the window. Show up outside of the window with proof their own offering had a better deal through the same store during that window and it will not be honored. No mention at purchase, - you can set alerts up to inform you of a price drop, wasted time monitoring oneself. - you don't have to come in to the store in person. Would have been nice to know given I was out of country and unable to come in. - onus is on you, you would think if it was the same store there would be some automation in place to provide you money back. Next appliance purchase will be done elsewhere, lost out on $200+.
