My husband and I have spent many thousands of dollars on electronics and appliance products at Best Buy. Until recently, our experiences had been positive, but two negative experiences back-to-back have changed our minds. I had an issue with a Best Buy on-line order and was UNABLE to speak to a live person. Instead, every time I tried to select the option to speak to a rep, I was told by the AUTOMATED system that the call was now being disconnected. Tried 4 times and gave up. Then called my local (Gainesville) store to ask if they could answer a question about the product. The call was answered and I was placed on interminable hold. I hung up after 25 MINUTES. If retailers want to know why business is down, here is one reason: People can now shop the internet, get better prices, and the same or often BETTER customer service than we get from DRIVING to your STORE. You STORE MANAGERS had better wake up!.

I have been to every BB in the area from Fairfax to Leesburg and I must say that Gainesville is by far the best. Their sales associates go out of their way to help and assist with everything from games to Magnolia. Their price match is outstanding. Just today I could not find a game in stock and was leaving, the sales associates caught me in the parking lot and advised me he checked the deliverys from last night and went and got one from the back. Sunday in the Magnolia Center I was throughly educated in big screen TV's and and I bought one because of his help. They really appreciate your business.

Called store to check on product availability and product information. Recording said there was one customer ahead of me. I was on hold for 25 minutes and no one ever picked me up.

Let me start off by saying that when I was younger I worked at both Circuit City and BB, so I've seen more than a few electronic stores up close and behind the veil. The Gainesville BB is one of my favorite stores, and I am usually brutally dismissive of any store in the "service" business that doesn't give just that - SERVICE. I have found there are gaps in product knowledge from time to time, but on the whole the staff does an excellent job interacting with me and providing needed information. They're not pushy, unresponsive or inattentive - big plus. The floor managers are excellent as well, and I've been pleased every time I've needed a price match or had an issue with a product I've bought at the store. I've read some of the other reviews and all I can think is that some of these folks giving negative reviews have some very personal issues that likely colored their view of their treatment at the store. I've bought CDs, DVDs, video games and consules, printer and computer accessories and several big TVs from the Gainesville BB, and I'd say they have done a solid job earning and keeping me a contented customer.

I would have enjoyed shopping at this location but due to harrassment by the employees/security I was not able to do so. I was accused of shoplifting without having done anything but open a product to view the contents inside; I did not think that was illegal. A particular staff member threatened to call the police as he claimed I was stealing a product on camera. I feel it was honestly based on steroype because I am a teenager or even due to my ethnicity. I also feel it could have been completely avoided with a little more assistance by the employees, who were just standing around fratenizing with one another. After rude interrogation, I was finally imformed of the Open Box Policy (which I apologized in violating) and I proceded to purchase a set of headphones (in which I came/intended to buy).I generally try to avoid any problems with employees but I feel this experience was over exaggerated. I understand theft is a reoccurring problem but I was deffinitely accused wrongfully. This was my first and most likely last time shopping here. As a working citizen, I had all intentions of purchasing any products I desired but I feel disgusted by the actions of management, staff, etc.

Compared to other Best Buy stores I found things hard to locate. The staff was very helpful but only after I asked them to help. I was actually charged less than I expected on items I was purchasing and they were willing to do a price match for an item that was selling for less online. All in all it was a good shopping experience. The sales people weren't pushy but also weren't outwardly looking to help. A little more focus on looking for customers who need help could go a long way with the smart and friendly people they have working there. Thanks.
