Sold me a $1500 brand new Lenovo Yoga that broke within 5 months (some screen issue)— even Geek Squad admitted they’d never seen anything like this with Lenovos and that it was unusual.
The only thing they can do is abide by manufacturer’s instructions and send it out for repair for you to get it back in 3-4 weeks. Obviously complicated for anyone that needs a computer for work, but they offer no logical solutions.
They admit it’s a highly unusual problem but won’t credit customers the money (even though the manufacturer does refund them when the send the faulty unit back) to buy a new computer at Best Buy on the spot.
Management team is not solutions oriented at all but the guy that helped me at Geek Squad was very nice. White guy with beard and glasses.
Best Buy needs to update their policies to encourage customer loyalty and retention and help customers that need a computer when they drop theirs off for repair. They have a huge opportunity to offer promos to customers that need replacement computers when they drop theirs off for repair. But they won’t help at all— won’t give money back when they admit it’s a highly unusual fault and won’t even allow customers to apply a trade in credit (a petty $275 for a $1500 computer) until the broken computer is repaired, and nor will they let you apply it retroactively! They missed an opportunity to have me walk out of there having spent another $1000 on a computer— because of their arcane and illogical policies, I took my money elsewhere.
It was really easy to find what I was looking for. The workers were really helpful but the only thing I didn't like was the long line I'm not sure it was a holiday when I went but otherwise I enjoy shopping at best buy
