I've never written a review of any store before, but was compelled to do so after visiting the Best Buy in Corpus yesterday. Every single employee I encountered was completely unpersonable and unfriendly. While my friend was checking out, the employee made absolutely no eye contact with her and basically just made us feel as if we were a bother to her. I bought a t.v., and had a similar experience with the girl who helped me there. The worst part was when we asked for help getting the t.v. to the car. The guy told us to pull the car around to the front and he would call for help. We pull the car around, wait for about 5 minutes before deciding to go back in. Finally, someone comes out with out t.v. This guy is has the word 'ATTITUDE' written all over him. He slowly shuffles out, obviously irritated that he was asked to do this. He doesn't smile, doesn't act professional, and puts the t.v. in the car. I say 'thank you,' very nicely, and he doesn't even look at me OR respond. A total punk. These people here need a lesson in customer service.

This is the worst Best Buy i have ever been in. I'm not sure how they stay in business. If the employees started being friendly and seeking out customers to help it would go a long way to changing peoples' views of this store. At other Best Buy's I've been to I couldn't go more than 5 minutes without someone asking me if I needed help finding something. Here I've actually walked around the store for an hour, not only without an employee asking me how I'm doing, but actively looking for someone to help me.

We purchased a laptop from the Best Buy in Arlington, Tx, for our student daughter, but the computer died on her only two months later when she was in Corpus for a class. The Geek Squad in Corpus made several statements about what might be the problem and then wanted her to pay $160 to retrieve from her hard drive a paper she needed to turn in immediately. We have the receipt from the computer and one for paying to have her files transferred from her old laptop(which ironically is still working). When I called to talk with a manager about solving the problem without spending nearly half-again what the laptop costs, he seemed indifferent and unconcerned. A product purchased at Best Buy TWO MONTHS ago had failed and he didn't give a flip. I'm going to hold this experience against BEST BUY and that may not be fair. They should choose better who uses their name.

So, like most people, I'm mostly writing this review because I was and have been very upset with my experiences in this store in the past. Let me start off with the pluses.I have never really had a difficult time browsing the sales floor. Usually, people are helpful and they're not incredibly difficult to find. My husband and I went in to look for a camera today and the gentleman in the cameras was extremely helpful; he even found us another display model to test a camera while someone was repairing it. I can't comment on the product knowledge because we didn't ask anything, but I overheard him with another guest and he seemed averagely knowledgeable - didn't know everything but he knew major pros and cons. The store is usually clean, in my experience. The movies are usually a mess and out of sorts, but what place does that not happen at? They usually have a good stock, but obviously being right after the holidays, it may be a little dwindled at the moment. Now for the cons. The return/exchange line is almost always a nightmare every time I've been in there. It wasn't so bad when we went earlier today, but I went back later for an order and their was one person working and there were at least 5 or 6 people in line. The customer service behind the return/in-store pick-up counter is, to put it nicely, lacking significantly. I walked up to the line for the in-store pick-up and the girl looked up and immediately looked back down at the computer she was working on with another person. Usually, it's nice to at least get a "be with you in a moment". However, not the worst part. Here is my biggest rant. I don't really dislike the store itself, but if anything, please stay away from the in-store pick-up. Unless you like waiting 30-45 minutes for an item that has already supposedly been pulled for your order, just don't do it. I've given this store the benefit of the doubt 4 times already. I keep thinking that maybe this time they'll get it right. Nope. Over the last 5 months, I have used this service 4 times, and had to wait at least half an hour for my item all 4 times. Today, at least, there was a reasonable excuse: it wasn't off the truck yet. Okay, why not say that it's coming in on the truck, come after this time? I can understand that; however, if you've ever driven in Corpus, you'll know the traffic on Staples is horrendous most times of the day. I really don't want to have that stressful experience then wait in line (usually about 10-15 minutes) just to be told that the item isn't ready and then wait another half hour until they find it, IF they even find it. 2 of the times they didn't even have the item. Thankfully, I was issued a refund with little trouble, but the wasted time is most irksome.All-in-all, checkout lanes are fair, floor help is decent, but anything else, you're asking for trouble.

When the other guy was in town, before going bellyup. There was competition, now they are the only act in town... the rest is academic. To me the drive to S.A. is worth it

I tried this store 3 times while I was in town for 3 months. The first time, I wanted to purchase a SSD and the manager on duty would not comp the price, although it was at a competitor in town. He said we don't have to honor the prices because we are not a corporate store. During that visit, I had to go to the restroom, but when I walked in, the restrooms were unkempt and very disgusting. I left. The second visit was worse. I tried to purchase something that was lower on the best buy website, they would not even comp their own website. All the best buy stores I had ever shopped at honored the website's prices. The third time, I returned my apple TV because it was not connecting to the internet at the hotel I was staying at, which was the whole reason I had purchased it. This was actually the best visit, after the lady realized that I was a premier silver member, she was very cool and polite.I even called the main number about this and they said it was true it was not a corporate store so they could make their own rules. The worse point of this was that, I actually found it much cheaper from another place, which they would not have been able to comp... so I got my SSD, just not from Best Buy...

THIS STORE IS DIRTY AND DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE ENOUGH EMPLOYEES. HAVE GONE IN A COUPLE TIMES AND HAVE DONE A LOT OF STANDING AROUND. BETTER TO JUST ORDER ONLINE IF YOU LIVE IN CORPUS. SEE YA AROUND, BUT NOT AT THIS STORE!

I purchased a Samsung camera at Best Buy in Houston this past Christmas. The camera is now having some malfunctions and I took it to the Best Buy here in Corpus Christi (as this is the closest location to where I live now) to have it looked at. I was told from the man at the front door that I needed to take it over to the Geek Squad to check my warranty and have the camera repaired. So, I did just this. I went and got in line at the Geek Squad desk and waited my turn. After a few minutes I was asked by the next Geek Squad associate to come to his computer, I told him my dilemma and he got on his computer to check my warranty and see what needed to be done. After working on his computer for a minute he told me that his computer system was not working and he needed to go to the back to see if it worked back there. I waited and he came back several minutes later saying that they were having computer issues. He tried a few more times at his computer and said that he didn't know what was wrong but that he couldn't get to the program that he needed to help me. I asked if there was a manager that could help us, as I had driven an hour to get here and wanted to get this done. The manager (whom I saw laughing with other employees) said that he was on a call and I could wait 10 or 15 min until he was available. The associate working with me told me that they regularly have computer issues and that waiting wouldn't really be an option for me, as they have no idea when thier computers would be back up. He also suggested that I call ahead next time before making the drive over. I waited about another 20 min and the manager never came. The associate basically gave up and said there was nothing he could do. I'm very disappointed that I wasn't able to get my camera repaired or even find any answers as to what my warranty covers or what I need to do to fix this. I paid over 500 dollars for this camera and purchased the warranty. I thought that was the best way to get help if there was an issue, apparantly that's just not so. It amazes me that the Geek Squad, who is there to fix issues, couldn't even get thier own computers up and running and apparently this is an ongoing issue for them. Of course, ringing people up to buy things was not an issue for them, only helping people who weren't there to spend more money.

No wonder your store is ranked so poorly. Have a camera break within 30 days and no help whatsoever. Easily could have been helped at store. Camera still in box, brand new, first time used in water (supposedly waterproof) and fills with water but no. Cannot help with a $300 dollar camera. Could take my money but not even give any assistance to fix or replace camera. On attempt to return, service associate even commented seeing the camera "oh we've seen that alot lately." in reference to the camera having water in it. I doubt you even take these reviews seriously. I also know that will further entice you to ignore me even further because that's how you operate. Thanks,
