In December I purchased a Playstation pro and a LG TV. I bought the top of the line warranty, which the sales associate assured me covered everything and even wrote on the receipt that physical damage was covered.
The tv started to bleed from the top in early january and I wanted to return it but my gf didnt think it was that bad. I called at one point to check on the warranty becauqe it was the screen and it was confirmed over the phone it was comprehensive and covered everything. On feb 20th I went to return the tv the bleeding had gotten worse. , it was windy and I was carrying the tv when a gust of wind caught the cord and tripped me causing me to fall on the tv, breaking it completely and injuring my elbow.
After getting to the point of the return the store manager refused the return saying it didnt cover physical damage. She actually laughed in my face when I showed her the reciept and explained the tv already wasnt working.
She then had me wait on the "assistant manager". When he came he was unwilling to do anything to honor the warranty and said he didnt know which employee sold me the warranty, I pointed out that was untrue as it was on the receipt. The only thing he would do was refund the warranty, which my gf paid for so I wanted her to at least get her money back. Little did i know that was scam number two.
When we got home with what was now our completely busted tv, I really felt crappy about the whole thing so I called and both my gf and I spoke to a rep who said we had to go back to the store we purchased the tv from. So we went back with the reciept. There my gf spoke to the manager. After telling him the story, he informed us that the assistant manager we spoke at the cuhayoga falls store was actually the owner of both the stores and his boss and they would do nothing more for us because despite the fact that their employee lied to us to make a sale, they were not going to make it right.
At this point she left because she was shocked that she was hussled and it was obviously going no where. We just want Best Buy to honor the warranty as it was sold to us. The employee didnt just lie, he put the lies in writing on the reciept.
So I bought a warranty for the TV there they said it covered accidental protection for that and my PlayStation even wrote it on the receipt I took it in there because the TV was bleeding I tripped inside the store and fell on my TV which sucks but they said I had accidental protection they wouldn't cover it they brought out the owner of the store said he was the assistant manager and quickly refunded my warranty so he can cover for his employee that wrote on my receipt don't believe anything the employee say to you because they're just trying to make a sale even if they write it on the receipt and it's a binding contract the warranties are a lie so I wouldn't buy them because they don't honor them
