Best Buy’s "Open Box" grading has turned into a total scam. After losing my earbuds, I bought a pair online listed as Open Box - Excellent. I drove over to pick them up, and the store handed me a plain brown box wrapped in bubble wrap.
When I got to my car and opened it, I was horrified. The earbuds were scratched to high heaven, missing essential components, and didn't even come with the silicone ear tips! I walked right back into the store, demanded a manager, and got a full refund.
It is crazy what Best Buy is trying to pass off as "Excellent" condition now. Save yourself the headache and double-check your items before leaving the counter.
