Went with husband to trade in his Samsung Galaxy S24+ for a Samsung flip. Was told he would get $275 for trade in & flip would be $1000. Was told to take old phone to customer service & new phone would be up there so trade in & sale could take place. The individual at customer service went ahead & charged for new phone & said trade in value would have to go on Best Buy gift card. We said we had wanted the trade in to go toward the new phone. Another rep. said he could void out the transaction & do it the correct way but our card had already been charged the $1000 & this would be an additional charge of $725 because the original $1000 wouldn’t be returned to card for at least 24 hours. Since this was coming from our checking account, we couldn’t afford both charges. We ended up having to accept the piece of crap gift card. My husband can use it on whatever but after that, we we NEVER go to ANY Best Buy again!

I needed a new laptop and I did not want to support Jeff Bezos and Amazon so I went to my local Best Buy to give them my business. (Trip 1) The sales associate "Grace" was polite enough and helped me find the pc I wanted. It was not in stock so I ordered it. Grace told me data transfer was 100.00 but free if I purchased the 179.99 Total Member Plan. She was clear that it was prorated through the year and I could cancel any time. So I purchased it and took it to the resident Geek Squad when it came in (Trip 2) The Tech said that the data transfer would take up to three days as they were busy and I had to leave it with them. They called after two days and I picked up the PC (Trip 3) . My son told me that the Total Member Plan was not worth it and I should cancel so I did but Best Buy would only refund me 25.00 because they said the data transfer was 154.99 for members even though it was 99.99 for non-members! So 3 trips to the big box store and ripped off with a protection plan is what I get for trying to buy local. Next time it will be Amazon!
