I called best buy to have a few questions answered about a purchase in Mass. I bought the ipad for $500 and realized that I paid the sales tax on my way home. Good ol' NH doesn't have sales tax. When I asked about the return she told me that I can't get my sales tax back. She never told me that if I bring it back to the Mass store I could. When I asked if I could return it back to mass then she told me I could get the tax back. BUT.... Then told me it's pointless cause they don't have them ( very rudely too). I asked if I could order one. Again all rudely and smug she answered "NO' with a giggle. I asked when they expect more in she said for me to call back every day. She doesn't know what time. Just all and all very disappointed about how I was treated after spending around $3-4k in the last few years.

talking about the people leaving reviews. you people are so quick to slander a store and everyone it employees based on you having a bad experience. it's not NASA, stop expecting a top notch expert who works retail for under 9 an hour. There are some exceptional, well informed associates in that store but there not all on that level, just like ANY other business which you clearly have no idea about. Do you people understand what "recession? means? That means less money being spent which means companies are forced to cut labor and lay people off. There's not an employee in every department waiting by the phone, they're with customers, it's the Mall of New Hampshire.Best Buy puts out a flyer every Sunday that applies to EVERY store in America. There's not a worm hole in the back that spits out electronics, you'll have to excuse them if they don't have one out of 10,000 items in their store and you have to wait the big 3 days to have it ordered. You people are out of your minds. .The fact that you went to one out of 800 stores, spoke to one of their million employees and decided you'd run home so you could immediately jump online to publicly say ""DOWN WITH EVERYTHING TO DO WITH BEST BUY!!" .makes you a complete fool.Next time you go to use your computer, unplug it first.

The store manager requested to see my Driving License (not less!) before conducting a sale. Upon viewing the license they refused selling me the computer I came for.

Just like so many others trying to call for information of computer stocked items. NOBODY picks up the phones at ANY Best Buy stores. The recordings continually repeat how my call is so important to them... Well, if they would pick up and answer the phone I would tend to believe them more.. I live to far away to spend time and gas to take a chance and be disappointed the item is not available. I guess customer service has to suffer as much as the economy does. BEST BUY SUCKS because they make it that way from poor management.

I was in the Best (aka Worst) Buy this morning at 09:00 looking for an item that was sold out. There had to be no less than 15-20 staff in blue shirts milling around. The store only had a handful of customers at that time. I did not mind not finding the item I was looking. NO ONE asked if they could help me. In this day and age with monies tight, one would think that stores would bend over backwards offering services to customers. This was my first and last time I will walk into this store. When I arrived home, I purchased the item I was seeking from an on-line site and it was not from Worst Buy. I did not leave the store angry, I just left.

I WENT LOOKING TO BUY A STEREO FOR MY CAR WITH 4 SPEAKERS. I ALREADY HAD AN INFINITY AMP. I SHOWED THEM THE AMP AND ASKED FOR A SYSTEM TO BE INSTALLED WITH IT. SAID I WANTED THE SPEAKERS TO BE WELL ABOVE THE REQUIRED RANGE TO HANDLE THE AMP WHICH WAS ONLY 280 RMS WATTS. OUTPUT. THE INSTALLED TOOK 11 HOURS WHEN I WAS TOLD WOULD ONLY BE A COUPLE HOURS AT THE MOST . I HAD ALREADY WIRED THE AMP AND RAN THE SPEAKER WIRE. THEY ONLY HAD TO IN STALL SPEAKERS IN DOORS AND TRUNK. THE TRUNK HAS THE SNAP IN BRACKET TYPE. AFTER INSTALL FRONT SPEAKERS STARTED CUTTING IN AND OUT. WAS THERE SOLDERING THAT WAS FAULTY....2 DAYS LATER THEY SOUNDED LIKE CRAAP AGAIN. THEY WERE BLOWN. I NEVER EVEN TURNED THE STEREO TO HALF WAY. MANAGEMENT WAS TOTALLY AGAINST EVEN LOOKING AT THE ISSUE AND SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. ONLY 2 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE. BUYERS BEWARE . I'LL NEVER STEP FOOT IN A BEST BUY AGAIN.

I do not know exactly what it is about Best Buy, but every time I deal with them, I walk away feeling unfulfilled. Between the lackluster sales help and the not very helpful customer service, I really do miss the days of Circuit CIty.I purchased a bundled kit online (IPod, charger, case) for my wife's b-day. Picked it up at this store. Waited on by a person with absolutely no personality. When I asked if I was supposed to get a receipt with my order, was gruffly told my order printout was good enough.Well, one of the pieces (charger) is missing. Now I get to play with customer service. Tried 3 times so far, but each time I have waited over 20 minutes without getting anybody yet.I guess customer service is a thing of the past for Best Buy. From now on, I'll find other places to do business.

Went to the store on Sunday June 26, 2011 because their Ad showed I could get a $100 gift card with purchase of any laptop $699 or up, wanted to buy for my daughter who is going to college. I also wanted to buy the Toshiba 46" TV on sale for $599.99. Planned on getting the laptop then come back and use gift card to get the TV. Employee said that the $100 gift card was for one specific laptop even after I showed him the Ad. He would not change. I asked to speak to manager and he REFUSED to get the manager. I requested many times and he kept refusing, said he wasn't going to bother his manager with this. This all while the "Intel expert" was listening to the conversation. At that point I explained I WAS NOT leaving until someone in management explained why their Ad said this but they would not honor it. I finally got him to go get the manager. The manage NEVER came to speak to me. He came up the aisle and huddled about 10 ft away with four employees and ultimately they decided the Ad was correct. He sent a person with "expert tag" over to explain they had not discussed this that morning so none of the employees were aware.. I did not buy the laptop!! I still wanted to get the TV so went to the TV department. I could not locate this TV so a clerk helped me out. He was helpful but said they did not have that model as they had discontinued carrying the model in the store and would have to order it. -- This is first day of the sale and they hadn't even had one TV in stock !! It seemed like a great value so I ordered the TV. I am returning it today. Short review on this Toshiba TV, I can see why they didn't carry it. HD is good enough but the tuner for analog channels create very poor quality pictures. ... Hopefully management will be better when I return it.

I'm writing this because I hate to see a fine store get such a bad rating based upon one customer who had a bad experience. I'm not saying that Best Buy is the best place in the world but it is a fun place to shop, has great selection and usually very good service. Sometimes they are very busy, but that's okay. I have gotten a lot of questions answered even when I wasn't purchasing. Sometimes the employee who is helping you does not have all the knowledge you want, but usually they will find another employee who knows more to help out. They don't play ego games and are usually very nice. I scored the checkout process high because with a Best Buy credit card I can get purchases over a certain threshold with interest-free financing for 6 or 18 months and in home theater department 3 years. That can be very helpful. The monthly statement separates multiple purchase so that I can figure out how much to pay to stay on track, although I do have to do the math--paying the minimum payment won't cut it. Its simple, just divide the amount by the number of months. There's no interest so its easy. And if you don't need the free financing you can choose 4% discount on the entire purchase. I'm going to copy this writeup for the Nashua store as well, since I shop at both.
