I don't usually write reviews but I just had such a terrible experience at this branch of Best Buy I feel that I must warn others. A week ago I went to buy a camera that I had researched online. They did not have it in stock so they ordered it and I paid for it (over $600). Today I went back to pick it up. When I got there two annoyed looking people were waiting in the pick up line but there was no sales help. Their receipts had been taken some time ago after which the sales help disappeared. One man said he had been waiting 20 minutes. He went behind the counter and saw the sales assistants were just sitting down. They told him he couldn't be back there but they didn't come out to help. I got someone off the floor to go and speak to them.A woman came out and took my receipt. Without apology she told me that they weren't able to get the camera and that they would have to refund my money. She was unable to offer any explanation so I asked to speak to a manager. While waiting for the manager another employee, who had overheard our conversation, located the camera I had ordered on the shop floor and came and placed it on the counter. To be sure I asked if it was the camera I had ordered and the sales assistant replied "yes, but you can't have it." When I asked why not she replied that it hadn't been picked through the system. She then whisked the camera away. After about 15 minutes the manager showed up. It took another 15 minutes or so but eventually under her direction somebody redid the paperwork so that I could have the camera I had paid for. I expected that the manager would explain what had happened and offer a sincere apology but this did not happen. My son needed the bathroom while we were waiting but when I asked the original sales person where it was she simply ignored me. I had remained calm and civil, if a little annoyed, the whole time and really didn't deserve to be treated this way. At the end I told the manager a little about the poor experience I had but she didn't seem interested so I just left. I really feel appalled by the whole experience and will not be shopping at Best Buy again.

One of the worst experiences I had shopping .... the sales clerk was insulting, pushy and rude and caused me to walk out of the store angry and frustrated. I'll never shop here again.

Some sales associates know their stuff (the Apple specialist there is the best!) and have positive energy, but others aren't knowledgeable in the least (camera department; movies) and seem to be there only to do the minimum required, in order to receive a paycheck. And while the store's Customer Service is consistently excellent, its In-Store Pickup could not be less helpful or efficient. Selection can't be beat, and prices are great, so, if you know what you want going into the store, it can be a quick and easy shopping experience. If not, it's hit or miss on the quality of product information and assistance you'll get. Just don't order for in-store pickup!!!!

At 9 am, with 20 min in my parking meter, I went into the store expecting to pick up my online order in time. After standing in line for customer service for 10 min waiting for 1 customer in front of me to finish, I was finally told that I was in the wrong line. The pick up line was not visible from the escalator I used.I got on the pick up line. Once again I was the 2nd in line waiting for 1 person in front of me to finish. The employee had trouble looking for the item for the customer and had to leave the area to search for his item from the other section of the store. There were 4 people behind me at this point. But I had to run out to put more money in my meter leaving my 2nd place in line. I added 1 hour and 10 min to my meter securing my time to 10:30 am. The parking ticket in Manhattan could be very costly. When I returned I was the 5th person in line. The line moved glacially slowly. In the meantime, I had asked 2 employees, the entrance guard and a sales person in the TV area to speak to the store manager about this. They wanted to know what the problem was. I told them that they should have more than 1 person working at the pick up counter especially with the past 2 day special of a gift card of $10 with a store pick up. I had wanted to speak to the manager myself but the two employees told me they would speak to the manager. I am not sure whether the manager was ever informed about this. I hope he or she was.The employee at the pick up register spent more of her time looking for items than the actual check out process. Perhaps their system of finding the items was not efficient. Or they should have 1 person designated to find the item while another person takes care of the register.By speaking to the 2 employees about wanting to speak to the manager, I lost my place in line even more. At the end of my transaction, it was almost 10:10 am. The whole process took over 1 hour. But I had to travel to the store and spent money on parking meter which was 50 cents for every 10 minutes. I found this experience not worth any kind of an incentive. It was just awful. The store should have added more employees to the pick up counter before I spoke to them knowing there had been an on line special. But after I spoke to the 2 employees, they really should have tried to rectify the situation. The entrance guard was even condescending. When I told him the line was not moving and that there were many people, his reply was that the pick up line was never long or a problem as if he did not believe me. I even informed him of the on line special that made more people to use the store pick up special. I found this whole store and the pick up experience unacceptable and that my impression of Best Buy is just too big and not organized. I would not want to utilize this store again.

Any time I want to buy something "techie," (or, audio-visual)- I only go to Best Buy. The store employees in the various areas are unbelievably knowledgeable and patient as I am a senior citizen with very little knowledge. Three years ago I bought my first laptop computer here and I think the salesperson must have spent at least 2 hours with me as I had absolutely no idea how a laptop works to the point I had no idea how to even turn the computer on, He had to explain everything to me as I only had a desktop previously. The Geek Squad are amazing and I was more than happy to pay the additional monies to have them set up my new laptop and install the various CD's I bought to make sure everything was correct. And it still is three years later. My next purchase last summer was a floor fan which operates beautifully. And again, even for a fan, I took a lot of the salesperson's time to pick the right one. And just recently (almost a month ago) I bought my first LCD (flat screen) television. And again, I must have been with the salesperson for at least 2 hours as I only had the old-fashioned type of television which was purchased way back in 1993. I didn't even know or heard of the terms "LCD" or "LED." Plus I was very concerned my cat would knock it over as I did not want to hang it from the wall. He even offered a solution to that problem. Very creative and very patient and very nice. Best Buy also makes me feel very secure because of its 30-day money back guarantee and because of its extended warranty program with the Geek Squad. The prices are also very competitive with other retailers and I would not ever consider going anywhere else. No one has ever pressured me to buy a more expensive item and everyone there seems to be really interested in my concerns and needs.

Entered the store ten minutes before closing to buy a memory card for my camera. Showed sales associate my camera and in 20 seconds he showed me 2 memory cards they had on sale for $10 and $20. Went downstairs to checkout line and while I was waiting, they decided to open up the customer service desk for checkouts as well, so I purchased my item pretty much instantly, for a great price, and it works perfectly. Thank you!

On Fri 10/28/2011 at 9:00 PM I went to this store to return an item I purchased online. I spent 1 hour for the credit to be processed. 1st. the employees at the customer service counter told me the purchase was a Best Buy Market Place Purchase so therefore I could not return the item. They made no attempt to research the above, I had to call customer service who advised them it was not a Best Buy Market Place Purchase. Then, I was told the serial number did not match the serical number on the box. I asked to speak to the manager on duty and she had the same unacceptable attitude as the employees. I called customer service again while I was at the store, they were on the phone with me for over 30 minutes; they requested to speak to the manager on duty twice and she never came around neither answer the phone. Besides the horrible attitude I observed from the employees while I was at the store I noticed that few times white people returned electronics without packaging and walked out without problems. Only one agent noticed I was persistent and decided to call Logitech. Logitech advised them that the serial number on the item I was returning did not have to match the numbers on the box. If you have a customer service issue; DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. THE UNACCEPTABLE ATTITUDE OF THE LOCAL MANAGERS SEEMS TO REFLECT THE ATTITUDE YOU WILL RECEIVE FROM THE EMPLOYEES.

Both in store and over the phone this is the worst Best Buy, and the worst electronics store overall, I've ever been to. They never, NEVER answer their phones. So even when you have a quick question you are forced to go in. When you go to the store the employees are mostly rude and dismissive and on top of that move like snails. They cannot explain to you the details of your purchase (especially in Best Buy mobile) and have no interest in improving the customer experience. I will not be purchasing anything from this location ever again.

If you know what you need, know the aisle and the shelf great ... if you need any help go somewhere else ... just to get someone to lift a box of the shelf is an effort the returns line can take an hour...I am at BestBuy on average 10 times a months buying equipment for my clients. I hate going there .... root canal without anesthetic feels better.

This Geek Squad doesnt have "Geeks". Whats here are employees that are uninformed, understaff and incapable of fixing your equipment. They also lack communication and consideration in regards to your equipment in thier possession. Managment really needs to revamp this locations employees.

No one could ever imagine who is in charge of hiring and staffing this Best Buy location. Employees walk around clueless and most of the time are unavailable to assist. How do you stay in business "Best Buy"???????

This afternoon I went in to BestBuy to pick up an on-line purchase and I found the woman at customer service (in store pick up) to be very friendly, efficient, and helpful. I purchased an itunes gift card for 15% off at the downstairs cash registers. The wait on line was less than 4 minutes and the cashier was extremely helpful and friendly. upon walking out the store I felt nothing but gratitude towards the employees at Best Buy 86 St. & Lexington.

Sold me a Go Phone and did not properly scan it. Worked for the first day but was then locked by AT&T. Was told I have to go back in and show proof of purchase to get it unlocked. What a pain. Thanks, Geniuses.
