Good deal on tv and associate was helpful
I had then take a look at my computer because there was something wrong with it. They recommended a new power supply and it didn’t work. So we took it back and they tell us to buy a certain motherboard so we buy it and it doesn’t fit the computer. So we have to contact the people at a different company to recommend us a new motherboard and that one works. We take it back up there and get it fixed and everything is working well until the motherboard doesn’t even have a WiFi adapter which isn’t Best Buy’s fault. But when we try to put in a new WiFi adapter we notice that they the geek squad had bent multiple places of the motherboard and left out at least 3 screws. We are lucky that it even worked when we got it. Overall it was an awful experience.

I went into Best Buy yesterday and was greeted by a nice young man at the door who was polite and helpful. He directed me to the Geek Squad area since I was there to get my phone serviced. When I got there, I noticed the guy at the front desk — a white guy with Leonardo DiCaprio-style hair (I don’t know his name)— and I instantly got the feeling I wouldn’t be helped properly. His whole demeanor was nonchalant, unapproachable, and he acted like he didn’t want to be there. Still, I didn’t judge him and remained polite, even though I was frustrated with my phone situation.
He told me I needed to make an appointment, so I did — for the next day. When I came back today, unfortunately, he was the one who helped me again. Same attitude, same lack of customer service. He took my phone for about five minutes, came back, and said he had “bad news” — that he couldn’t help me because their system couldn’t read my iPhone’s serial number. He said I’d have to contact Apple, and that there was nothing more he could do.
I left and called Apple, and they immediately apologized. They explained that since Best Buy is an Apple service provider, he could have accessed my serial number by having me log into my iCloud — something he didn’t even try to do. That made me upset because I had been patient, respectful, and waited for my appointment, only to be brushed off in five minutes.
I went back to Best Buy and again was greeted kindly by the same young man at the door — honestly, he should be working over at Geek Squad. I asked to speak to a manager about the poor service and unprofessional attitude from the guy with the Leonardo DiCaprio hair(I don’t know his name). No manager ever came to talk to me. Instead, another employee came over, took my information, and went to speak with him. You could tell he was avoiding me and had an attitude, even while explaining the situation to her and hurried back in the back… how rude!
She came back and explained things in more detail — something he never bothered to do during my appointment. In the end, I called Apple again, and they got me taken care of quickly.
Overall, I left disappointed more than anything. This was my first real experience at Best Buy, and after today, it will definitely be my last. If I ever need service again, I’ll drive all the way to the Apple Store in Raleigh before going back there. I go where my time and money are appreciated.
Best Buy — please consider reassigning him from the Geek Squad counter. Customer service should start with someone who actually wants to help people.
