I previously submitted a review regarding this matter. Best Buy responded by providing links to contact them; however, none of these were functional. Given that additional developments have occurred since then, I am reposting updated information. Summary of events: In November 2024, I purchased a Hisense 65U8N television along with Geek Squad protection. On January 11, 2026, the television ceased functioning. I contacted Best Buy the following day, and a technician visited on January 15, diagnosing a faulty motherboard but was unable to locate a replacement. While the warranty covers repair or replacement with a comparable product, I was offered store credit instead and my warranty was not transferrable. The refund amount did not cover the cost of an equivalent television, and had the original item been repaired; the warranty would have remained active. Attempts to escalate the issue to supervisory staff were unsuccessful. When I visited the store in person, I encountered a manager whose demeanor was dismissive; I was asked to leave when other customers became aware of our conversation and was threatened with police involvement if I remained. After consulting the manufacturer, I learned the part was available but backordered. I reached out again to Geek Squad. After several communications, they agreed to repair the television; however, a second technician visit was required to confirm the issue, necessitating further time off work for me. Although I received confirmation for the appointment on January 23, no technician arrived. My subsequent calls yielded inconsistent information from different departments. Ultimately, Grace from Geek Squad informed me that no one was coming and that only after the backordered part became available would a repair technician come out, which contradicted the reasoning behind scheduling the second visit. She advised me to call again on February 15 for rescheduling, as the part was still unavailable. As of now, the matter is unresolved, but I have been assigned case ID: 370106843v. I am providing this case number so that, if Best Buy reviews my post, they may contact me directly via the phone number or email on file, rather than through nonfunctional links.

I called the manahawkin Best Buy on Thurs and ask what the protocol for Pokemon release was. Was told it’s first come first serve when they open at 10. Showed up at 8am the next day waiting in line for the Pokemon release. We were in the first 4 in line. Store opened at 10, we walk in and were told only people with wrist bands get to purchase Pokemon cards. The employee claimed they handed them out early around 8:30. This was not true because I was there at 8 when no one was there. These wrist band customers showed up 5 mins before the store opened and were behind us in line. We were told they are “regulars” and therefore get special wrist bands. So the first 4 in line are out of luck. We can pick whatever the wrist band customers don’t want. Thinking this was very odd and shady we just waited for the wrist bands customers to be done. At this time we noticed whatever boxes that were more valued were quickly moved to a closet area and we were not allowed to purchase and they denied doing so. It was very very shady how this was done. I’m sure all on the security footage will show this because it happened at the customer service. I’m not upset because of not being able to purchase an item but when you show up early and are second in line you’d expect to get something. Then being told nope your not one of our regulars. One of the employees was a manager and the other was a women helping. She claimed this is the managers way he does it and has been done it this way for 2 years. No other employees there had any idea they do wrist bands and were very surprised. I really hope this is not the way this store operates normally I have never seen anything like this and I do think it needs to be looked into. Seems like there are some back door deals being made to get these so called wrist bands. Or it is friends and family of these employees. What a shame. The first 4 in line kept questioning what is going on because there was a lot of lying but no one could actually say where these wrist bands came from.

Hello, Dorothy, Thank you for taking the time to reach out with your feedback.
