All Best Buys look the same, the difference is the customer service you get. I went in to buy a PS5. These are kept behind the checkout counter. Sam, the associate, got one for me. Then I asked for a second controller and charging dock. He picked up the PS5, walked with me back to the PlayStation section, and showed me all my options. His demeanor was knowledgeable and friendly. With my selections made, he was able to check me out at the nearby register since he carried the PS5 with him. That saved me from needing to walk back to the front of the store and getting back in line to check out.
I wasn't pointed to the PlayStation section and told to come back when I was done. Sam made my transaction important to him. Customer service like this will keep me going to this particular store.
I went to the Best Buy with the full intention of buying a PlayStation Pro in paid in full as a gift, but the whole experience left me uncomfortable and frustrated. The older woman helping me was very pushy and seemed confident that I would sign up for a credit card just because I walked in ready to pay. She never asked if I wanted the card and instead kept interrupting me, saying “let’s just get you signed up,” while rushing me to give my number before I could even ask about the console. I was trying to get more details because this was a gift, but all she cared about was getting me to sign up. It felt very one sided, like the whole interaction was only to benefit her and not me. It completely killed my vibe. If a customer says no, that should be respected. The desperation and constant pressure made me uncomfortable and in the end I left without buying anything even though I really wanted to.
