If you want to know why people are shopping online more and the brick and mortar are dying--come here.
I rarely shop at Best Buy. When I do, I try to shop through their website. I rarely go to the store. But this time, I needed something asap. This Best Buy reminded me how annoying the in-store shopping experience can be.
I walk into the store, greeted by the person sitting at the door. Ok, great. Thanks. Then I head straight to the department. Walked past a group of employees. I avoided eye contact and sped past them. I went straight to grab my item and walk away. While walking away from the department, some employee yells out if I had any questions. My back is to you, I didn't make eye contact, I didn't even face your way, I didn't come up to you, and I didn't stop walking -- but sure still ask if I had questions while I'm already walking away from the department.
I then went over to the computers and saw lots of cool stuff on display. No employees were in the area, thank god. So I took my time to browse and see the tech from different companies. While at the Mac section, I saw an employee walking and looking at me. I still don't make eye contact and just wanted to enjoy my time browsing. Did that happen? Nope, he asks out how I'm doing. I said good and walk away quickly in the opposite direction.
Then I realized I am not going to get to shop in peace and browse in peace so I decided to head to the checkout and get out there. While cutting through the phone section so I can get to the cashier, some employee walks up and asks me if I needed help with anything. Okay, I didn't look at him once. I didn't even look at any products. I didn't even stop in that section. I was walking straight to the cashier in a brisk manner but yet had to be asked if I needed something. I didn't even bother and just kept walking to the cashier.
I get it is their job and they have to do it but man thanks for reaffirming my decision to renew my Prime membership.

Thanks,
Wanted to buy a fridge and had questions but no employee was around the appliances area. I'm thinking it's because people don't walk in everybody wanting to buy big appliances. But it would've been nice to get service.
