Total SCAM! When you buy online have it delivered.
I bought a MacBook air online with a trade-in. I have 15 days to send the trade in so they refund the value, according to the receipt. I get there and they tell me I have to bring in the trade-in at the time of purchase. Keep in mind I need to transfer all the data from the old computer to the new one. The iCloud takes forever, using a cable is faster, easier and I can make sure everything’s fine before turning the old one in.
The manager was extremely rude and aggressive telling me to take it up with best buy’s legal team and sue them. Idk, but if I were best buy, I really wouldn’t like a manager suggesting a customer to sue the company they work for. He also lied, saying it was an Apple policy which clearly it isn’t - as I have gotten multiple iPhones, transferred all the data and sent the old phone back.
This is a SCAM so that best buy will force you to take a store credit, bc I have no idea who would buy a new MacBook, delete everything from the old one without transferring the data first.
At the end I requested a refund, went online bought another one, paid less and once I’m done with the old one I’ll send it in and get my refund. I even said thank you when I got my refund and was met with a scoff from the manager.
AND they stole $4 from me, as I paid $880.90 for the computer online and they only refunded me $876.90.
If that’s how your managers treat customers, best buy stores should close already. We don’t need to waste time to get bad and rude customer service - it just gives the company a worse rep than it already has. Pathetic.
