I’m giving one star because of my awful experience at Best Buy in Watertown today.
I’ve been a loyal customer and even purchased 4 laptops, a washer, and other items from this store in the past few days. Josh Goodwin, Dar Mesmer and another lady helped me in the past, and they were fantastic. But today was completely different.
I came in to fix a minor issue and asked for the language to be changed on two laptops. She did one right, but had an issue with the second laptop. Instead of helping with that, Ava, the technician, said she would install a different version of Windows. I immediately said no. I told her I did not want the installation, so I fixed the settings without changing the original system. But she didn’t respect my decision. She acted like I didn’t know what I was talking about and continued as if I had agreed. Finally, I returned the fourth laptop and asked for my refund.
I’m the customer. If I say no, that should be enough. You cannot push an installation I didn’t request or agree to. When I tried to stand my ground, the situation got worse. Instead of listening to my concern, the manager defended herself, and I felt disrespected, ignored, and treated as if my opinion didn’t matter.
I left the store upset, especially knowing how much I had spent there. This is not how you treat people—especially not loyal customers who want to be respected.
