Geek Squad tried to quote me $300 for a simple, free 15-minute repair. I was having an issue with my Mac that wouldn't power on. I needed a simple firmware revive using the Apple configuration tool, which they have access to. The Geek Squad person told me that he could not run a diagnostic because it would not power on. I did not need a diagnostic. I then went to the Apple Store, and the technician was confused about why they did not help me there. My laptop is under warranty, so it should have been free even if I needed a repair. I spent an entire day dealing with Best Buy and got no help, and spent 30 minutes in the crowded Apple store and was helped right away. I would not recommend using Geek Squad for anything. I had a simple issue, and it was handled poorly. I recommend going to the manufacturer of your device, whether it be Apple, Samsung, Motorola, or even Toshiba, as you will have a better experience.

First sales rep was great. He gathered what I requested and made reasonable suggestions. After closing the sale, a blonde-haired male with a tag that said supervisor tried to convince me to replace my extra year of protection for $30 more with a subscription service that would be concurrent (meaning I'd only have a year of protection). He also told me the Best Buy card gives 10% off, but it's 10% back in store credit. I ended up returning it all and going to Microcenter, where I found the same goods for $300 less. Silly.
