I went to this store on 06/03/26 to return two phones due to an error made by the AT&T rep at Best Buy while setting up the new phones. I was previously told by a Best Buy employee at this same store that I would not be charged a restocking fee for this return since it wasn't my fault the mistake happened.
Today 06/05/26 at 12:45 PM, I went back to this store to try to process my return. Thylia a store manager was very rude after I explained the situation and insisted that I had to pay the restocking fee or she would not process the return. I explained to her what I was told by another employee two days prior and she kept telling me she would not waive those fees. She was very condescending saying that it was basically impossible for those fees to be waived and that she wouldn't do it. She said I either paid the fees or go elsewhere to return the phones.
Immediately after leaving the store I called Best Buy's customer service, explained the situation and asked if those fees could be waived. They assured me that they can, and that the manager should have done that for me. I would rate this store 0 stars if I could for the very poor customer service and mistreatment. I was not there by choice, I was trying to correct a mistake that was not mine. Hopefully Thylia will receive further training on how to properly treat customer and how to process returns.
