I had a lovely experience with the sales rep named Dylan this morning. He helped me with the purchase of new headphones. He was knowledgeable and provided me with the valuable information. I needed in a timely manner with excellent customer service. I have not been into a Best Buy in years, but I was pleased with the experience that Dylan provided me today.
On August 20 I went to this Best Buy to checkout an open box deal. LG Oled tv with a tag and description showing condition good missing stand. I asked the folks there if it had burn in or any issues and they said no they get tested. I previously purchased another open box lg at another store and once I got it installed at home it had a faulty screen. I gave them the backstory and how I felt about trusting their testing process for quality. They seemed understanding but when I asked if we could unbox it because I didn’t trust their process for tv testing they seemed annoyed and said it’s very difficult to get the tv back into the box. Eventually they took it over to geek squad and they opened it up just to prove my suspicions. The screen was faulty despite what they said in person as well as the open box description. Drove an hour just to be let down again. I asked to talk to a manager about helping me get a good price on a new tv or another open box tv that I could trust and he wasn’t helpful. Didn’t offer any sort of resolution or promo on another tv. He told me he didn’t have price autonomy which is interesting because I’ve been told by other employees at Best Buy that that was not true. A store manager has zero control over pricing ? Just not true. Manager showed zero sympathy or empathy towards the situation or the previous similar situation. Just continued to repeat himself about price autonomy and how his hands were tied and also raised his voice with me. His concern was protecting Best Buy, not offering great customer service or good solutions. He also told me he was in the same boat as me (the customer) when it comes to trusting the descriptions on these open box deals lol. That statement alone shows there is a problem. If you are interested in an open box at Best Buy just be careful. They won’t be truthful with you and you may end up stuck with a tv that has a faulty screen.
Best Buy is only focused on profit unfortunately. Also just to note if you read through the reviews there are quite a few related to open box deals.

Use a local electronics store. This company sucks and the time you spend calling to get help you could drive there and stand in line for an hour.
For clarification my nonprofit hosted a contest for youth volunteers and the winner got a new game system. A student volunteered over 80 hours this summer and won!
I set up a nonprofit account online and purchased. Went to store to pickup and was told it was canceled for fraud. Spent an hour waiting for reps to get the system I bought together and repurchase in person. Due to getting the fraud alert, I cant get emails from best buy and spent an hour on the phone, hour online chat, and then hour with store to be told they had noooo possible way to send me my receipt that was supposedly emailed when i bought in store. So went back Into store to wait another hour and a half in customer service for them to print it. Over 6 hours wasted to buy an xbox system, controller, and game pass card that would have taken 10 minutes at level 7 games. An epic local game store.
Never again best buy. And certainly won't be reaching out via other avenues as you all do not care.

My Zagg phone protector was nicked and peeling. They replaced if because it was guaranteed. I'm happy.
