I made a purchase at the 171 W 230th Street location on Monday, March 30, 2026. I was told my 43” TV and wall mount would be delivered the next day (3/31), so I scheduled a maintenance appointment for installation on 4/1.
Unfortunately, the TV never arrived. After a couple of days with no delivery, no text, and no email updates, I had to reach out through the Best Buy app myself. That’s when I was informed that the delivery service (Roadie) had damaged the TV—but no one had communicated this to me.
I was asked whether I wanted a refund or a replacement. Since I had guests visiting from out of town, I clearly requested a replacement. I was then told a new TV and mount would be delivered within 48–72 hours.
On 4/4, I went back to the 171 W 230th Street location to check on the status. A sales associate, Ralphie, informed me that a refund had already been processed on 4/3. I made it clear that I did NOT request a refund and even had text proof showing I asked for a replacement. Ralphie printed a receipt confirming that the order had been canceled and refunded without my authorization. To make matters worse, only the TV and warranty were refunded—the wall mount was not.
This is completely unacceptable.
Now I’m stuck waiting for refunds before I can repurchase everything from another location, causing unnecessary delays and inconvenience. I also asked if Best Buy could accommodate installation since my maintenance person is now unavailable, and they declined.
Overall, the lack of communication and coordination is extremely disappointing. Best Buy failed to notify me about a damaged delivery, processed an unauthorized refund, and offered no meaningful solution.
I do want to note that Nicholas, the associate who originally helped me, was excellent—knowledgeable, patient, and very helpful throughout the purchasing process. Unfortunately, the service after that did not reflect the same standard.
