I bought a new laptop for Black Friday and wanted to trade in my old one using the Best Buy trade in program. There was no option for my specific laptop, so I chatted with online customer service just to make sure and they said that they could accept it and that they'd give me $100 for it.
The problem was that I couldn't do it online, so I couldn't make it a part of the order of the new laptop, but they said no problem, just take it into the store after you're done transferring files/resetting it.
So after I got the new laptop and transferred files to it, I reset my old laptop and brought it into the store for trade in. They were unable to find my specific laptop during the trade in, and offered me $25 in store credit for it. I told them about my conversation with the online customer service, and they said there wasn't anything they could do.
I tried calling Best Buy customer service and they basically said, we're sorry that someone here said that to you, but that's incorrect. Didn't care that I have the chat transcript, it wasn't like I was lying.
Anyway, 1 star experience for sure. I'd have bought the laptop from Amazon if I'd have known the trade in program was going to be a bait and switch, and I can't imagine I'll ever choose Best Buy in the future for any similar purchases.
What a crap store. Unenthusiastic teenagers who clearly do not want to be there doing the bare minimum and making sure you know they don't want to be doing anything. Zero help from customer service. Lost my paid for item that they had to end up cancelling. Still don't understand how you order something online and have it still not be ready 3 hours later. Then for them to tell you that you just should go and find the item in the store yourself. What an absolute joke.

Followed curb side directions, waited 25 minutes and had to go inside to pick up my package. First person came back and said she couldn't find it. Manager had to get involved to solve the problem.

Purchased a computer for over $1,700 brought it home and a little over 2 weeks later it no longer turned on took it back to the store they were very helpful they exchanged the computer I was happy got the second computer home second computer out of the box was not working correctly would not boot up into I called customer service and got no help went to the store got into an argument with the representative because was told even though I paid in cash I would have to wait7 to 10 days for a refund by mail because I spent so much left angry told them I would think about my options and come back as of today I am without a computer and without my $1,700 this is ridiculous I would not recommend for anybody to make big purchases at Best Buy once my computer problem is taken care of I will probably never use them again
