Walked in to buy a TV. Simple enough. The associate answered my questions just fine at first. Then I gave him updated contact info, and he sighed like I’d just asked him to rewire the building.
I paid. Receipt prints. He hands it to me with two fingers — like it was mildly hazardous — and immediately turns his back to chat with coworkers. No “thanks,” no “need anything else,” no eye contact. Apparently, once the card runs, human decency clocks out too.
Walked up front and asked for a manager, explained what happened. His response: “So what do you want me to do about it?” Outstanding leadership example. I asked what he would do or how it would make him feel, and he admitted it would probably aggravate him too. Then said he’d mention it to the associate and the district manager.
I’m not asking for special treatment — just basic professionalism. I bought a TV, not attitude.
