Fraud Issue Ignored by Best Buy and Citibank — No Resolution Since July! I’ve been a recurring Best Buy member for over 5 years, and this is how I’m appreciated? Since July 2025, I’ve been dealing with an unresolved fraud issue involving two $700 charges ($1,400 total) that appeared as purchases on April 1, 2025 — purchases I never made. Over the past several months, I’ve spoken with more than 15 representatives and multiple managers from both Best Buy and Citibank, and no one can tell me where these charges came from or why they’re still on my account. For reference, I opened my Best Buy Citibank credit card at the Hamilton Best Buy on Gunbarrel Rd — a store I’ve supported for years. I first contacted Citibank in July 2025 to dispute the fraudulent charges and many times after, along with numerous representatives from Best Buy. After getting nowhere, I called Best Buy corporate office on September 25, 2025, and spoke with a woman who said she had escalated my case to her supervisor to contact Citibank directly. She assured me that since I had already done everything I could with Citibank, Best Buy would take care of the situation moving forward. That never happened. On October 16, 2025, I called Best Buy corporate again. The woman I spoke with said she couldn’t find any record that anyone from Best Buy had ever contacted Citibank or made updates on my account. She told me she needed a few minutes to review it — then hung up. She never called back. I called again that same day, and another representative told me a supervisor would return my call. After waiting over 30 minutes, the line was disconnected, and once again, no one followed up. Citibank has been no better. Every time I call, I’m forced to start over from the beginning, as if my case doesn’t exist. Their team shows no care, no urgency, and no accountability for their customers. What’s worse, while ignoring the fraudulent charges, Citibank decided to increase my spending limit — instead of actually resolving the issue. It’s insulting that they’ll raise my limit but won’t fix the problem. Meanwhile, my payments are being misapplied, and my account balance is still completely inaccurate. This has been a terrible situation since July — and what I’ve learned through months of calls, empty promises, and disorganization is that nobody wants to do their job. Both companies just pass the blame back and forth, leaving loyal customers like me to deal with their mess. I’ve done everything asked of me, provided every document, and waited patiently, but I’m still left with no resolution and no transparency. After more than five years of loyalty, this experience has completely destroyed my trust in both companies. The lack of professionalism, communication, and integrity is shocking. Best Buy and Citibank have shown zero accountability, and it’s clear their “customer service” departments are just walls of scripted responses with no real help behind them. I’ve wasted months trying to get answers. I’ve done my part. And still — nothing. It’s beyond frustrating — it’s infuriating. For two major corporations to treat a long-term customer like this is disgraceful. Do better, Best Buy and Citibank — YOU'RE A DISGRACE!!
