Impossibly bad service. I bought a TV to mount above our fireplace. I asked if Best Buy would mount it, explained where I wanted it mounted, and even showed the salesperson a photo of my fireplace and the exact spot I wanted it. The salesperson ensured me they could and would mount it, and I paid for the TV, a frame for the TV, and the mounting service. I then picked a day for the installation (today). I left work in the afternoon to let the installers into my house. When they got there, they told me they not only didn’t have the frame for the TV, but that they couldn’t install it above a fireplace. I told them I had not only told the salesperson I wanted it mounted above a fireplace but showed him a literal picture of the fireplace, and he told me they would be able to complete the installation. I then called Best Buy and, after waiting on hold for an interminably long time, they told me I would need to pay an additional $100 for mounting above the fireplace. I thought this was ridiculous as it would require me to miss at least another hour of work, and told the person on the phone as much. She then instructed me to go to the brick and mortar store where I’d ordered the TV because it was “their mistake.” I thus left work at 7 pm, went to Best Buy, which is very much still open, explained to a gentleman whose name I’ll withhold what my issue was, and he told me there were no managers on duty, but that someone whose name I’ll also withhold would be able to help me in the home theater area. He called for that individual, I went over to home theater area, and I proceeded to wait there for 10 minutes while no one came. I then went back up to the gentleman who told me to wait over there, and he said “yeah the guy who could have helped you just left.” I looked at him completely dumbfounded, and he said “I don’t know what to tell you. Just come back another time.” At this point, I am considering just returning the TV out of principle. I’ve preferred shopping at brick and mortar Best Buys over Amazon and other online retailers my whole life, but this has just been infuriating
