I asked them to add new thermal paste to my laptop and clean out the inside (gaming laptop) because I was having frequent crashes with multiple games. I called after checking in my device to be certain they would repaste my CPU and GPU, the person on the other end assured me they would “add a note.” I waited 4 days before getting my device back. In that time, all they did was update my graphics driver and delete 12 “threats” from my drive. They neglected to tell me that they couldn’t repaste my device until after I had waited the 4 days, on account that the store, “wasn’t allowed,” to take apart my device in order to complete the task. The games in question continue to crash after the maintenance was complete. A total waste of both time and money. Unless you are incapable of simple maintenance, I wouldn’t recommend spending money on the geeksquad, whose name drastically oversells their capabilities.

I am beyond frustrated with the experience I have had with Best Buy and their protection plan service. About two years ago, I purchased a KitchenAid double oven from this Best Buy and paid extra for a 5-year protection plan because I believed it would provide support if something went wrong. Unfortunately, both ovens stopped working over a month ago, and I have still not received a resolution. I am currently pregnant and have a toddler son, and being without a working oven for more than a month has created a significant hardship for my family. We rely on our kitchen every day, and what should have been a straightforward warranty claim has turned into an exhausting and stressful ordeal. The store where I purchased the appliance told me there was nothing they could do to help. When I called corporate customer service, I could not get anyone in America on the phone and I was given inaccurate and conflicting information, including being told there was another warranty on the appliance that does not exist. I have spent countless hours trying to get answers, only to be transferred between departments and left with no meaningful assistance. What is most disappointing is that I specifically paid for the protection plan to avoid exactly this situation. Instead of receiving support when I needed it most, I have been left without a functioning appliance for over a month and with no clear resolution in sight. Best Buy has completely failed to stand behind the service it sold me. If a customer can spend thousands of dollars on an appliance and an extended warranty and still be left without a working product for over a month, then the value of that protection plan is highly questionable. I hope someone in Best Buy’s executive customer relations department takes this complaint seriously because the level of customer service I have received has been unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing a major appliance and protection plan from Best Buy to carefully consider whether the company will actually support you when you need help.

Absolute mess of a store. There was no help and after I asked for help many employees stood around, and I waited far too long. My protection plan was not honored ethically and the store is a shambles with a total lack thereof concerning customer service. This store repels customers. The manager doesn’t know what he’s doing. I used to run a Best Buy.
