Second Edit: I received a response via Facebook messenger from Tommy who said that he was sorry I purchased the wrong thing but he felt that the picture and box label were not misleading and there was nothing to be done about it. So turns out Jay was just making it look like Best Buy wanted to resolve the issue.
Edit: I don’t use twitter or instagram, there was no response to my Facebook message and after I posted the same review on a Best Buy facebook post I was contacted by several generic looking customer service accounts. One called me through the Facebook platform which I didn’t even know was possible and wanted me to put a lot of sensitive personal data such as birthdate and bank details into a very generic google form to apply for reimbursement. It definitely felt like phishing so I blocked that account and all of the half a dozen others that sent friend requests.
Purchased what I thought were 4 garage door keypads. Photo online showed a keypad and box at pickup said electronic garage door keypad on it. Kept in boxes for a few months because there was a delay with my garage door order. Opened the first box and there was no keypad. Took them back and asked to return them and have the refund credited to my credit card since the photos and box were quite misleading. The associate and manager said that the only option was to purchase a $50 membership and get store credit. I asked for a one time exception because I felt that this was not the usual return situation and they refused. I won't be taking chances buying things at best buy in the future, rather pay more and know that errors will be resolved in a reasonable manner.

I strongly do not recommend this location especially the Geek Squad. I went in three different times to replace my battery, at their request, only to show up the same morning they packed my battery to be returned. The person who assisted me, Jade, was helpful until she realized she messed up. She was defensive and unwilling to admit of any wrongdoing. By this point, I have spent hours traveling, standing and “completing paperwork” for nothing. I had to ask multiple times for a manager and then multiple times to get my money back. Apparently the manager of the Geek Squad, Jesse, told Jade the incorrect process and at my first experience of him, I didn’t even know at the time was the manager, was dismissive. The store manager, Austin, who was from another store was the only one to apologize and actually resolve my refund. I’ve not walked inside a Best Buy in years and this experience confirms I’ll never return. Also, there is no way to contact the store or Geek Squad. You are pushed to a service line who is unaware of what’s going on.
