I had an extremely disappointing experience attempting to return an item purchased through DoorDash and delivered to my home. I acknowledged that the return was outside the standard window, but the initial representative at the store was helpful and agreed to process it. I was thankful for that. 5star! However, once a manager took over (not sure why at that point), the situation turned sour. I explained that this was a DoorDash order and provided the item in the original bag, my DoorDash receipt (clearly itemized), and proof of the Amex charge. The manager initially said we’d work through it, but his tone quickly shifted. He repeatedly blamed me for not having a "Best Buy receipt," even after acknowledging that their store policy (he did not say local or corp policy) does not include receipts in DoorDash orders. i said i wasn't aware the need for one as I didn't receive a receipt in the bag when delivered but showed him my DoorDash app and itemized receipt. What could i have done more - at this point its nearly a half an hour - again i asked how could i show him BB store receipt that you don't provide. He told me to check email, contact DoorDash but he could not help further. I then asked if he could reprint the receipt himself, he ended the conversation and said its not in the BB system to print and he was “done with me.” I believe at that point he most likely realized the problem, but went the other way and became - dismissive, condescending, and increasingly argumentative, adding zero value to the interaction. This went on for over 30 minutes with no resolution. Here’s the question I need answered: If Best Buy’s store policy is not to include a receipt in a DoorDash order, how is a customer supposed to return an item if they are never provided the receipt required for that return? This situation was unnecessarily hostile and entirely preventable. I won’t be returning to this location and hope the incident is reviewed for improvement.

Bluffton Best Buy: Where customer rights and the law don’t matter. My husband went in to return an unopened camera lens well within the 15-day return window. Corporate policy clearly states there is no restocking fee on unopened items. Even more importantly—South Carolina law prohibits such a fee. Despite that, Supervisor Casi insisted we had to pay over $400 to return it. When we tried to show her the policy and the law, she rudely dismissed us and called her manager, Shawn, who said he didn’t care what policy or law said—“This is how I run my store.” Casi then threatened to call the police if my husband didn’t comply. When I later went in calmly to resolve the situation, she sent a sheriff to confront me before I’d even said a word. I was mortified. Corporate confirmed we were right and refunded the money—but the behavior of these employees was not just unprofessional, it was ILLEGAL. Do yourself a favor and shop anywhere else. If they’re trying this with us, how many other customers have they robbed under the guise of a fake “policy”?
