Had my lap top fixed by Geek squad. Excellent work
I recently purchased a new Dell laptop, an HP office jet pro printer, and a 16gb ram memory module.
When I picked up the laptop, I was told that I had to install the module myself. So against my better judgment, I went home and the next day I removed the bottom cover and installed the module. I closely followed all instructions, that I found on the internet.
After powering it on, no video, crickets. So I removed the module the next day, as I have to be at work at 5:00 am. I live 20 miles away from Best Buy, so it was a few days before I went back, to return module. I went to customer service desk and got a refund, then proceeded to the computing desk area, where I met Chandler. I told him what I had went through and then sarcastically he says” you should have bought a laptop with 16 gb of RAM to start with. I told him, they didn’t have the same laptop with said configuration. He then tells me it is supposed to have DDR4 RAM and not DDR5 RAM.
So I bit my tongue and purchased the 16gb DDR4 RAM module. He had all the info on the laptop per the paid invoice. I get home and go to install it, and it takes DDR5 RAM ONLY! Now I have to go back again. Best Buy in Hoover has been a less than crappy experience for me, especially with incompetent people that are rude. As a matter of fact, the day I made the original purchase, I stood there 10 minutes with 2-3 associates standing behind counter ignoring me. I hope to get this resolved, and I guarantee, I WILL NOT EVER GO BACK, and I will spread the word.
From my short little trip inside, this one seemed nice. Clean, organized. The check out clerk even gave me valuable information about the warranty on their screen protectors without pushing anything else!
