I just want to make this clear from the start. This 5 star review is NOT for Best Buy. It is for the appliance guy who helped me today when Best Buy as a whole failed us. His name is Shaun Trinidad, and he works at the Aiea Branch as an Appliance Category Advisor upstairs. I’ll try to keep this concise. We needed to purchase a washer/dryer unit for our rental on Ward Avenue because the old washer for our tenants had gone down. The next delivery date available was Monday. My tenants had to call in sick from work to make the appointment. It was the next available time, and it is totally understandable. The installer/delivery people came, disconnected the old system, and hauled it off. Then, they installed the new 2.4 cu foot washer and condensation dryer. This is where things go south real fast. Apparently, the installer was not familiar installing condensation dryers. There is no vent. However, these types of dryers require a drain hose so the machine can pump the excess water out of the dryer. The tech didn’t attach the drain hose and left the cap on the drain port of the dryer. He took the hose with him. The policy on the receipt says that they were supposed to test the machine. They obviously did not because when my tenants went to dry their clothes, the dryer kept giving them a drain code error. My tenants said they were willing to go to Best Buy to try to get the drain hose. I gave the photos of the receipt to my tenants and told them that they could call me if they needed to speak to me. Best Buy in town claimed that they couldn’t do anything. However, I know that they had more of the same units in the back with the drain hose because we just checked inventory so many hours prior. This is what I call, “Employee mindset.” People are bound completely to policy and follow it blindly without even considering what they are doing to the reputation of the business. Best Buy already messed up. My tenants were cool enough to take time out of their busy schedule to go grab the hose only to be turned away and have to waste their time. How unintelligent is that in the realm of customer service?? The next morning, I try calling the store for help. I get connected to their support system, but the best they can do is to schedule the installer to come back out the next day. The thing is, my tenants work all throughout the week and had already called out sick once. In order to make the new appointment, my tenants would have to call out again. I asked the support team the next available Saturday, but it wasn’t available for another couple of weeks. That’s a long time to ask someone to not be able to do their laundry. I carefully explained to customer support of the situation. She kept saying there was nothing she could do. I asked her if she could put someone on the phone who could make the call for what I was trying to get done. She said she was unable to. ABSOLUTELY USELESS. So that’s the background of this review. I wanted to give a shout out to Shaun Trinidad because, out of everyone in the entire organization of Best Buy, he was the ONLY ONE to demonstrate good business skills. He actually listened to our situation, found a spare drain hose, and gave it to me so that I could drive all the way from Aiea to Town to fix what Best Buy’s installers failed to do. Thank you Shaun Trinidad! I think if you actually ran Best Buy, they would be a more profitable company. Thank you also because I know I’m not the nicest person to deal with, and you handled the situation like a pro—like someone who owns the business.

The staff here are great, they went above and beyond to find me an open box smart watch that was in their warehouse and took the time to test it to make sure it worked. The staff here knows their products and where everything is located in the store. This best buy has been my first choice for when I'm buying electronics because they often have what I'm looking for and usually have good sales l.
