I’ve got to say, I’m really disappointed with my recent experience at this Best Buy. I bought a MacBook Air as an open-box item in “Excellent” condition, but when it arrived, the AppleCare+ was still tied to the previous owner, and Apple told me it couldn’t be transferred. On top of that, the laptop had a noticeable nick on the back, which definitely didn’t match what I’d expect from “Excellent” condition. I reached out to Best Buy support, and they suggested I go to the store to get things sorted out. The trip took me about two hours total, which was a huge hassle. When I got there, I was told they couldn’t do much and that they’d send the laptop back to Apple and issue me a refund. Fine. Not ideal, but okay. But here’s where things got really ridiculous. Just two days later, I saw the same model back on sale. To avoid more issues, I ordered two open-box "Excellent" laptops (just in case). And guess what? They sent me the exact same laptop I had just returned! The same nick, the same AppleCare+ issue—everything. So much for sending it back to Apple. What makes this even worse is that I worked as a Computer Sales Consultant at Best Buy in Arizona for five years. I know they could have done better. There were so many chances to handle this the right way, but instead, they decided to just pass the problem on to the next person. This whole situation was a waste of time and money, including travel costs and the hassle of dealing with support. I’m not sure I’ll ever trust this location again. I really hope they take this feedback seriously and make some changes, because right now, I can’t recommend shopping here to anyone.
