I do ALOT of business with this store; like probably 50-60k a year or more. But I always do curbside pickup because it’s impossible to get the help I need.
However, on this particular day I had an appointment with geek squad at 9am to install an auto start on my vehicle. It was on their calendar for 3 weeks. By 9:25, with nobody there, I’m on the phone with their HQ who is trying to find someone at the store to open the door.
Of course nobody is there even though their mobile service shows they open at 9am on the mobile services door.
The uber driver left. So I have no way to get back to work. So I have to sit here and wait for an hour for the store to open and find out why they didn’t do their damn job.
I can pretty much guarantee they’re going to give me a bunch more grief, as this is the MO of this store.
I really don’t get it. Do they think they’re the only electronics store in the world?
This is completely unacceptable.
UPDATE:
After the store opened, I got a call. Their tech has an “emergency” and didn’t come to work. So I was kindly told I would have to reschedule.
Excuse me??
Best Buy shuts down their entire installation department because ONE GUY doesn’t show up to work??
Where is the manager? Where is the GM to make sure the doors are open in their installation department on time?
This location does multiple millions of dollars in business every year, and their General Manager, Georgia, is so small minded that she doesn’t even have a backup to open the multi million dollar store when a single employee doesn’t show up??
This is a management issue from top to bottom. Think about this. 25 minutes after their installation department is supposed to be open, not a single other employee is even in the building. Not a manager. Nobody. Best Buy corporate verified that when they couldn’t gets hold of ANYONE THERE.
I’m going to find somewhere else to spend my money.

The Best Buy stores in Anchorage all carry very similar products and are a bit of a essential lifeline in Alaska. Literally they carry pretty much everything You could possibly need as far as electronics are concerned, and if you can't wait or don't want to wait for things online it's honestly pretty incredible! They have an excellent selection of computers, TVs, and every little gadget and gizmo you could imagine. They're pricing is pretty much unbeatable and the service is great! Now that they are stalking more gaming PCs and accessories they are pretty much the best in town right alongside Costco.
We bought a new computer and a printer the employee was very nice and helpful.
