⚠️ BUYERS BEWARE — BEST BUY MARKETPLACE I purchased a laptop in April through BestBuy.com, believing I was purchasing it from Best Buy. I later learned that it was actually sold by a third-party seller through Best Buy Marketplace. Now the laptop is having problems. I brought it to Best Buy for service, and despite being a longtime My Best Buy Total member with protection coverage, I was told Best Buy will not cover or service it under my protection plan because the laptop was purchased from a Marketplace seller. I spoke directly with Leo, a manager at the Burbank Best Buy, and was told this is not simply a decision being made by that individual store — this Marketplace policy applies across Best Buy. That is the problem consumers need to understand: Just because you are shopping on BestBuy.com does NOT necessarily mean you are buying from Best Buy — and the protections you pay Best Buy for may not apply. I had no idea when I made this purchase that I was buying from a third-party seller or that Best Buy would later distinguish the purchase this way when I needed help. Best Buy allows third-party sellers to sell products through its website and shopping experience, but when there is a problem, customers can discover that Best Buy does not stand behind those Marketplace purchases the same way it does merchandise sold directly by Best Buy. Before purchasing ANYTHING on BestBuy.com, check who it says “Sold & shipped by.” If it isn’t Best Buy, understand that you may not receive the same protection or service you expect from Best Buy — even if you’re paying for My Best Buy Total. In my opinion, this is a terrible example of corporate greed: Best Buy benefits from allowing third parties to sell through the Best Buy website and brand experience, while customers like me can be left without the Best Buy protection we believed we were paying for. I wish someone had warned me before I spent my money. Now I’m warning other customers before Best Buy steals from them like they stole from me.

The curb pickup service was awful! Long wait no updates until the ordered was cancelled. I even called them and still no show. This was a Thursday morning at 11:22 am .
