I had a disappointing experience at the Best Buy in Merced when trying to return a TV I had purchased online. The TV was delivered on the 17th as a gift for my spouse for Christmas. When unboxing it, we noticed a crack on the right-hand side after removing the protective films. I brought the TV to the store and explained the situation to an associate, who inspected the TV and box. Unfortunately, instead of understanding my concern, the associate was dismissive and implied that my explanation “didn’t make sense,” citing an impact point on the TV. I understand that in-store associates are limited in what they can do, and I even acknowledged that to the associate, but their unprofessional attitude made the situation worse. Ultimately, I resolved the issue by contacting Customer Care, who accepted the return and arranged for a replacement TV. While I appreciated the resolution from Customer Care, the experience at this location left a bad impression. The lack of courtesy and tact from the associate means I’ll likely avoid this store in the future.
