Shout out to Sam from geek squad I went in with a pc software problem and they were able to get me set up with an account and a fix within hours super helpful
I miss Fry's Electronics and the nearest Micro Center is at least an hour and a half away. So that's where Best Buy comes in. Unless you go online which you'll run into Best Buy there too. They had what I needed (just not as wide of a selection) the price was reasonable to other places, it was convenient and the employees are always helpful for me.
I had an incredibly unprofessional experience with a manager named Scott. I attempted to return an item I had purchased just three hours prior. Despite being well within the return window, Scott refused the return and insisted I drive back to the 'original location' where I bought it.
When I asked him to show me this requirement in the official Best Buy policy, he walked me to the policy board but could not find any such rule. Instead of admitting the mistake, he simply stated that he is the manager and has the 'final say.'
It is clear that Scott is intentionally blocking a valid, same-day return to protect his store’s daily sales metrics at the expense of the customer. This is a blatant violation of Best Buy's corporate policy. Avoid this location—they do not honor their own company's promises.
UPDATE: I reached out as requested (Case #125461), but was simply brushed off.
Despite their public offer of help, support claimed that their "Return to Any Store" policy is optional and falsely stated that California Civil Code § 1723 does not apply to Open-Box items. I have since successfully returned the item at a different Best Buy that actually honors corporate policy and state law.
Be warned: The "Any Store" promise is not guaranteed here, and their public replies are just PR to cover for local policy violations.
