Have been going there since 1983. Have never been disappointed.
This Best Buy gets the job done just like any other. Staff are nice. I like how they had a wheelchair at the front for people who might need one (I did because I was in crutches).
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was so frustrating that I feel compelled to share it.
I purchased a brand-new iPhone from Best Buy that turned out to be defective. I attempted to return it immediately, but after waiting approximately 1.5 hours, I was told the system was down and to come back another day.
On my next visit, after another lengthy wait, I was told to drive to AT&T to have the phone unlocked. AT&T informed me they could not help because the device was sold and controlled by Best Buy. I then returned to Best Buy and was told to wait 48 hours and try again.
Over the course of multiple visits, my family spent well over 10 hours trying to resolve what should have been a straightforward exchange for a defective phone. The final visit alone took approximately 5 hours to complete the return, replacement, and data transfer.
What is most disappointing is not that the phone was defective—manufacturing defects happen. The issue is the repeated misinformation, multiple trips, excessive wait times, and lack of ownership in resolving the problem. My wife and I have two young children, and the amount of time required to fix a problem we did not create was unreasonable.
I have attempted to raise these concerns directly but have not received a meaningful response. I’m posting this review in hopes that someone from Best Buy management or customer relations will review this situation and explain how this level of customer service is acceptable.
I would appreciate being contacted regarding this experience.
Called and was given completely wrong information about what geek squad could do for me. Was offered zero alternatives or solutions when all I needed was just to download a boot drive onto a flashdrive.
