I recently purchased a dryer from Best Buy and paid for delivery and installation. During the install, the unit was wired incorrectly, the neutral was connected to ground, which caused a short and made the dryer unsafe and nonfunctional. I confirmed the issue with both a technician and the manual.
I’ve contacted support twice: the first rep told me to call back once the order was marked “completed,” and the second rep acknowledged the error but said they can’t refund the delivery fee because the item was delivered. I was offered an exchange, which doesn’t fix the hassle or risk of having to move and rewire a stacked unit due to installer error.
I’ve been a loyal Best Buy customer and was planning to purchase a TV next, but this experience makes me feel like my time and safety weren’t valued. I’m just asking to be treated fairly, and to receive a refund or credit for the faulty installation as I was originally told.
I hope someone from Best Buy can look into this and make it right.
