We spend 40 minutes there, but couldn’t get what we did came for. There were two people who tryed to find what we were needed, but looks like their computer system shows different of what do they actually have in store. So we had to use Amazon’s to order it from
Theme.
I recently visited Best Buy to return a Tesla charger. It was to my surprise that the return policy at Best Buy was 15 days and not the standard 30 days that I would get at similar stores. I asked the manager why this was and was told that “this has been the policy as long as he knew”. This surprise me and I found it interesting after searching online that “as long as he knew” turns out to be less than a year when the company changed the policy in 2024. Pretty bad knowledge for a manager.
I asked if there was a way to get a refund for the product and they tried to upsell me a premium package for over $50 to return my unopened and unused product and within days after the 15 day policy.
I will say in the past I’ve had good experiences with Best Buy and did not expect that this would turn out any differently. However, there certainly are some changed policies from corporate that are not as customer friendly as the organization used to be. The folks I dealt with were professional although did not recognize the new policy was only a year old. However, it still doesn’t change the fact that the policy is much different than industry standards such as Amazon. And the practice of upselling me an unneeded premium package just to get my refund seemed distasteful.
My recommendation and actions going forward will be to just purchase my electronics via Amazon, knowing that I have a 30 day return policy and if there’s any issue it will be taken care of. Sorry Best Buy, unfortunately I liked you being a brick and mortar retail store however you just lumped yourself into circuit city for me.
Btw Best Buy, rather than point to the fine print website return policy url, perhaps you should review the return policy websites from Amazon (30 days): Walmart (90 days); Costco (90 days) and Sam’s club (30 days) to name a few. None try to sell you a $50 package to provide a 30 day industry standard return policy.

I came in store to try and resolve an issue. Sales rep (Marcos )could help, and the manager (Jessica ) didn't want to help.
Be careful because they enroll in things you don't ask for, even when you're very specific that you don't want them.
