I went into the Best Buy in Mission Valley on my lunch break to replace a screen protector, and on my way out I spotted a Pokémon booster box hidden behind some sports card boxes. I waited in line and asked to purchase it, but another employee stopped the transaction and told the employee helping me that Best Buy “couldn’t sell it.”
First I was told it was a customer order, then I was told the system wouldn’t let them scan it. After that, the employee took the box into the office behind the registers. If it was truly a customer order, why wasn’t it being held at customer service or where is the sticker with the label? And why was it hidden behind other products in the first place?
Pokémon products are already difficult enough to find, and situations like this make it feel like employees are holding items back instead of making them available to customers. Unfortunately, this isn’t my first bad experience with Pokémon products at this location. I don’t recommend this Best Buy.
