I went into the store in Sherman Oaks and a pushy salesperson convinced me to apply for a credit card which I didn't really want. I told him I would probably be declined because I am not currently working. He said it didn't matter -- if I had good credit it would be approved. Then he took all of my personal information, including my SS#. Of course my application was declined. When I got home I got a message from my bank that my credit score went down four points as a result of this decline.
THE SALESPERSON SHOULD NOT BE PRESSURING PEOPLE TO OPEN A CREDIT CARD. HE SHOULD NOT LIE AND STATE IT WOULD BE APPROVED WHEN IT WAS NOT. HE IS NOT QUALIFIED TO GIVE OUT FINANCIAL ADVICE AND HE IS UNAWARE, OR UNCONCERNED, about Best Buy's criteria for approval. He does not care how the application's decline effects people's lifes.
The sales people at Best Buy are money hounds and do not care about customers in the least. I will never shop there again.

Customer service is very good.
Geek squad not worth it. They sell your warranties that they won’t honor.
