I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience at Best Buy that honestly needs to be addressed. I came into the store around 8:50 PM with a very simple request. My Mac had just broken, I had deadlines at midnight, and I already had the SKU ready. All I needed was a quick price match and checkout. I was also about to spend over $2,500 in your store, so this should have been a straightforward and prioritized interaction. Instead, I was met by a manager named Jaunalita, whose behavior was not only unprofessional but outright disrespectful. She immediately dismissed the price match I showed her, claiming it was a “Texas price” because my invoice had an old address on it. I explained multiple times that it was a Best Buy invoice and that the address was incorrect due to a previous chat agent mistake. To prove my point, I even pulled up Texas pricing—which was exactly the same as LA pricing, but she still refused to acknowledge it. It only got worse from there. She tried to tell me that Best Buy’s online chat representatives “don’t work for Best Buy” and are just random people in India , which is completely inaccurate. When I corrected her (politely at first), she became defensive and condescending, repeatedly trying to make me feel like I didn’t understand basic operations. She threw out vague excuses like “it’s an operations thing” without actually being able to explain anything. As someone with a background in business and retail, it was very clear she was just pivoting from one incorrect explanation to another instead of taking accountability. Eventually, she defaulted to “it’s up to my discretion,” which felt more like a cop-out than an actual policy. On top of that, she kept rushing me, saying the store was closing and I needed to hurry, despite the fact that she was the reason the interaction dragged past closing time. Because of this delay, my Best Buy invoice expired right at 9 PM when chat support closed, completely defeating the purpose of me coming in prepared. To make things worse, multiple employees were standing around while she was being disrespectful and condescending toward me. As I was walking away, she began speaking in Spanish, clearly referencing me in a way that felt mocking. Earlier, she had also been whispering from an aisle away to another associate about me, as if I couldn’t hear her. The entire situation felt unprofessional and humiliating. I literally left the store and cried because I was already so stressed out and felt bad for going in at 8:50 pm ( but I had no other choice so I came prepared for my purchase ) But not her attitude and unprofessionalism. The only redeeming part of this experience was the original associate who helped me and who later apologized for the manager’s behavior. Overall, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. I came in stressed, needing help urgently, ready to spend a significant amount of money, and instead was treated with disrespect, misinformation, and zero accountability. Management should be setting the standard for professionalism, not creating hostile and dismissive environments for customers. Save your money and go to Apple to purchase your products there directly at least they have a brain and respect for you no matter what you’re spending or literally any other company because as a manager she should be embarrassed and Ashamed. If you’re going to be condescending and rude at least make sure you look presentable and not like a lint ball off a cement floor that hasn’t been swept in months…..
