TL:DR: No bike parking, can't talk to a person on the phone, too many questions at checkout.
Okay, so I needed some thermal paste after the paste I ordered got lost in the mail. I go to staples, their website said they had it, got there and of course they didn't. I had already taken my heatsink off to swap my CPU, so I had no choice but to go to best buy.
Now it's about 6 miles from my house, so not too far of a ride, and the Greenway trail is pretty nice to ride, even at night. I decided to call the store to see if they had bike parking first though. I called and got connected to an AI, naturally, and tried to state my inquiry about bike parking. The AI eventually just told me that it can't connect me to talk to a real person at the store and hung up on me. Since I enjoy riding I figured I'd go anyway and just hope there was a place to lock up my bike.
Well, as you can tell by the picture I posted, there was not. Ended up locking it to a stop sign post right in front of the store. Walked in, already upset, got my thermal paste, and went to checkout. Then once I get there the cashier asks me if I want to sign up for a best buy card, I say no, then he has the nerve to ask again. Apparently best buy doesn't understand that no means no, but given tech culture I'm not surprised. The card reader then asks me for more questions, give your email here, round up to donate there, until I eventually get out of there to a (thankfully) unstolen, undamaged bike.
You can do better Best Buy.
Can see why online brokers are winning - lack of customer service and helpful people. Purchased a ps5 and three games, still not enough to get me a bag 🙃
