I went to the West Hartford Best Buy with my son and his 15 inch laptop. One Christmas gift I wanted to get for him was a decent bag or case for his new computer. We brought the computer to assure a good fit. I had seen them in person at Best Buy and figured we would have an adventure and get something for him on Black Friday 2024.
We walked through the doors and a friendly employee asked if we needed help finding something. I quickly said 'laptop bags'. He gestured toward the back of the store and said to look for a certain landmark; a big Microsoft sign.
My son and I zig-zagged our way through the busy store all the way back to the section the guy at the door had indicated. I saw the laptop bags on the rear wall and tried to find the shortest path to them. There was some merchandise on the floor blocking the way so I gently pushed a couple of boxes aside so we could get to the laptop bags. Just then an employee stopped us. The exchange of words was quick. "You can't go back there" said the employee. I said "But what we came for is right there". He said something to the effect of "that area is off limits". I said "so we can't buy a laptop bag?" He said "not on Black Friday". What else can you say after that?
We had an appointment across the street at Apple in the mall so we left Best Buy in a bit of a daze. On the busiest shopping day of the year there are some items they won't sell you at Best Buy. It's disappointing because I've bought many things from that store in the past 6 years since I bought my home including my living room tv and sound system and the very computer we came to get a bag for that day. I will be making different choices going forward.
P.S. - Everything at the Apple Store was for sale and nothing was off limits.

They don't have what the website says they have all the time.. but they will find you a store that does if you need a product immediately.
