I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at this Best Buy location.
I purchased a computer from this store that turned out to be defective. Before returning it, I spent approximately two hours at the Apple Store trying to resolve the issue, only to be told that the computer needed to be returned. I was able to return the computer successfully, but by that point, I had already wasted hours dealing with a defective product that should never have caused this much inconvenience.
Because of everything I had already gone through, the store manager told the sales associate that I could select an open-box item and receive a discount as compensation for the inconvenience. The discount offered was only around $50, and I was also supposed to be able to use approximately $100 in rewards points toward the purchase.
I then spent another two hours trying to find a suitable replacement. Once I finally found an item I liked, I was told that the promised discount and my rewards points could not be applied. Therefore, the resolution offered to me because of the inconvenience was not actually honored.
In total, I spent from approximately 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. dealing with a problem caused by a defective computer sold by this store. What made the situation even more frustrating was that the store manager never came over to speak with me, apologize, explain the situation, or make any meaningful effort to help resolve it.
This was an exhausting, frustrating, and completely unacceptable experience. Customers should not have to waste nearly an entire day correcting a problem caused by a defective product, especially after being offered compensation for the inconvenience that the store was ultimately unable or unwilling to honor. I expected much better customer service, accountability, and professionalism from Best Buy.
