Before choosing this camera, I was told that Best Buy would price match B&H. Best Buy price: $674.99 B&H price: $599.00 Difference: only $75.99 Yet after I selected the camera, Best Buy Florida City Store #1178 decided to decline the match. What made the experience even more disappointing was seeing a phone being price matched with Walmart while my request involving B&H—another qualified competitor—was denied. This wasn’t about trying to save hundreds of dollars. It was $75.99, and the camera was for my 13-year-old son to use for his baseball training. He had to stand there and watch the entire situation unfold after we had already been told the price could be matched. At some point, customer satisfaction should matter. After everything that happened, I believe the store should have simply said: “We made a mistake. We’ll take responsibility and make this right.” At this point, I would even challenge Best Buy Store #1178 to take responsibility for how this was handled and override the transaction to $0.00 as a customer-service gesture. Not because Best Buy’s price-match policy requires a free camera—it doesn’t—but because sometimes a company should stand behind its employees’ representations and make things right when a customer and his child are put through an unnecessary and disappointing experience.
