I had an extremely disappointing experience with Best Buy and their customer service. I purchased a brand-new dishwasher just two weeks ago, used it once, and the top rack is already falling apart to the point where I can’t even close the machine. For a major appliance, this is completely unacceptable. When I called customer service to find a solution, the experience only got worse. The representative sounded like he was in a chaotic call centre environment there was loud background noise, people yelling, and it honestly seemed like he wasn’t focused on helping at all. Then I was told there was nothing they could do because I was “past the 15-day return window.”
Two weeks. That’s all it took for a brand-new appliance to fail, and instead of helping, they hide behind a rigid policy. This is not a minor purchase it’s a major household appliance. A 15-day return window for something like this is unreasonable, especially when defects may not show up immediately. What’s even more frustrating is that this policy wasn’t clearly emphasized at the time of purchase over the phone. Customers deserve to know upfront so they can make an informed decision. Don’t wait until something goes wrong to point to fine print. This experience has completely eroded my trust in Best Buy. Standing behind your products and supporting customers should be a priority, especially when something fails almost immediately. Instead, I was left with a broken dishwasher and no help. I will not be purchasing from Best Buy again, and I strongly encourage others to carefully review return policies before buying especially for expensive appliances. You don’t want to be stuck in the same situation.
