I have been a Total Tech member for over three years, paying hundreds of dollars for a membership that is supposed to provide protection plans and support for purchased electronics. In all that time I have never used the plan until this week when my GE ice maker stopped working.
I went to my local Best Buy for help and was told they were a week out for appointments, which I could understand. They suggested I call Geek Squad for faster help and gave me a number to call. When I called, I spoke with a representative who was clearly based overseas and was told there would be a charge just to have someone come out and look at the ice maker.
That is completely unacceptable. After paying for this membership for years and never using it, I should not have to pay extra just to have something inspected. It feels like a waste of money.
I do not recommend buying any protection plans or Total Tech memberships from Best Buy. They sound good on paper but offer very little real value when you actually need help.

Never got scheduled it right…..been called them more than 20 times past 3 days try to schedule my order. But never go thru….i’ll 110% would never do business or recommend anyone for this company at all.
