I have a defective Apple TV remote under warranty. Apple’s website directed me to the Best Buy facility as part of their “Genius Bar” customer service normally provided at Apple stores, I assumed Best Buy would have a similar level of expertise if Apple recommended it, assuming there must be some service agreement between the companies. I sign up with a 3 o’clock appointment time, explaining my issue with the remote online. I show up at the appointed time 3 o’clock, Sat April 25th and the customer service person says they are running behind and will get to me as soon as they can. OK, I take my seat and wait 45 minutes to see someone. The same service person calls me up and says what is my issue, I explain the issue, as already identified in web appointment sign up, she says, oh, we can’t do anything we have to send it in. I’m like, what? You could have told me that when I checked in. I could send it in myself. She says and I quote “well I’m a little busy here”. And I said, “well you just wasted 45 minutes of my time, and what about all the other people, isn’t their time important?, and I don’t think I’ll be back”. And she said “good, I doubt you’ll be back and hope you don’t.” Now I’m pretty easy going, and tip service people well, but this is too much. Best Buy has lost a customer for life. Management needs to address.
