Worst Best Buy Experience I’ve Ever Had
I walked into this Best Buy specifically to buy headphones. The greeter asked what I needed, I said headphones, and I was told someone would help me shortly. No one came. I waited, then had to go back and ask for help again.
Eventually, an employee assisted me. I asked what the best earbuds were, and he recommended a pair priced at $119, talked up the quality, and said they were a great value at that price point. I agreed and said I’d take them. He unlocked the case and handed me the black pair.
At checkout, they rang up $269, over $150 more than the clearly marked price. I immediately said something was wrong and explained the situation. They acknowledged the price was marked incorrectly in two different places, but said there was “nothing they could do.”
A manager came over and offered $20 off, which was frankly ridiculous given the circumstances. I then asked for the $119 headphones that were advertised and recommended to me. I was told they don’t actually sell them anymore, they’re discontinued, not in stock, and can’t even be ordered.
So to be clear:
• The store has pricing and product signage for an item they cannot sell
• An employee recommended and sold me based on that price
• The price is wrong in multiple places
• No comparable product was offered
• I wasted 45 minutes of my time
To make matters worse, the manager was rude, refused to give me his name, and walked away from the conversation.
I’ve been a long-term Best Buy customer and have spent well over $25,000 with this company over the last few years. This experience showed zero accountability, poor training, and complete disregard for the customer’s time.
If you can’t sell a product, don’t advertise it.
If your signage is wrong, own it.
I walked out without buying anything and will not be shopping here again.

Bunch of cool electronics. Folks are nice but it takes a while to get help or buy something.
