Concern Over Product Integrity and Failure of Post-Sale Support
My wife’s recent experience with Best Buy has been extremely disappointing and raises serious concerns regarding product handling and customer service integrity, particularly concerning high-value electronics.
She purchased a PlayStation 5 Digital Console at the Black Friday price, yet was later denied a price adjustment because the item was received in an opened, unsealed condition. This denial, based on the opened status of a product sold as new and factory-sealed, is highly unacceptable.
More critically, the denial over an opened box is deeply concerning as it suggests this Best Buy location may be engaging in the practice of selling open-box PlayStation 5 consoles as brand new units. This is completely unacceptable for an authorized Sony retailer and violates the trust placed in Best Buy to deliver factory-sealed products. Receiving a used, returned, or opened product when purchasing a new, full-priced console constitutes deceptive business practice.
I strongly urge Best Buy management and Sony's retail partnership department to investigate this matter immediately. Consumers need assurance that when they pay for a new, sealed console, they are receiving exactly that. Until these product integrity issues are addressed, I caution other customers to be extremely vigilant when purchasing high-value electronics from this location.
