It just seems like if you need help the customer service for the call center is super rude. They give you the run around and can only answer about what they see online. So you pretty much have to waste your time to go in and get answers about things. Not all of us have the time to ride all the way across Cedar Rapids to speak with someone that you could have just spoken on the phone with that is actually in the store. To make such a large purchase online without being able to talk to someone in store is a no for me. Customer service at these stores is almost non existent if you have to call in and I would rather spend my hard earned money in a place where I can actually talk to someone instead of having to take all this time to go back and forth to and from the store to get accurate answers before making an online purchase. It’s makes frustrating situation even more flustering especially when customer service on the phone is so rude.
They always have what I need in electronics
This is a very clean and well organized store. They had exactly what I needed and the staff was very helpful!
This store has no morals or ethics whatsoever, and should be AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS. I recently purchased a new laptop for my young daughter for school and was DECEIVED into signing up for a Best Buy card under the false premise that I would save 15%. It was made abundantly clear that it would be on THIS purchase, and not a future purchase. That was a 100% lie. No miscommunication. No gray area. A willful and purposeful intent to scam me. After spending several hours fighting through the bureaucracy of setting up my account online, there were no savings on the laptop purchase, only an unnecessarily complicated points algorithm.
The store associate (Computer Department) who cheated me was named Lisbeth??? and while I do blame her, I also blame management for their unethical business practices. Looking through other reviews, it didn’t take long to see that my situation wasn’t an anomaly but rather their normal course of business. See past reviews from Jason Blahnik and George Medina. I wish I had read those reviews before setting foot in this store, which I take responsibility for.
Even if you are not computer savvy, you would be SO much better off buying from Amazon or NewEgg. You may need to do some research or ask a friend for advice, but at least you won’t be deceived. The goal of this brick and mortar store is to separate you from your money, and NOT to give you helpful and trustworthy advice.
