My experience at Best Buy, walk in with my buddy. he got a new place wants a big tv for the basement, find out there’s an open box sale, COOL! We go find a nice tv for cheap, so we thought. We drive across town to drop it off and set it up. we try to get it out of demo mode won’t work, the remote isn’t responding, check the IR emitter, it’s working. Decide to do research. No consist way of getting the remote to work. An Idea hits me I’ll call the experts. THE GEEK SQUAD! First time I call the AI virtual assistant says they’ll get me help after playing a game of 20 questions I stay on hold for 20 mins. I hang up I try again. The AI virtual assistant doesn’t pair me with a technician. Paired me with some guy who keeps asking for my credit card info, email, billing address etc clearly patched to a scammer cause, i don’t need to setup an account, I need a tech . Decide to hang up and try again the AI assistant doesn’t understand that I need a human being to direct my call to and then begins 20 questions again, finally I keep repeating technician and finally it reluctantly patches me through to a tech. We talk back and forth. he says if the remotes IR is firing and we can’t get it out of demo mode, the tv is bricked and he’s gonna get us to another tech. that tech tells we need to call the store in the morning. Why didn’t the store pick up to begin with. Look at the paper that came with the tv for inventory and equipment list. we must be missing something. it turns out it’s a work order. It’s supposed to be sent out for service. the tv turns out it’s bricked and they knew it and THEY SOLD IT TO US! Get all your latest scams at Best Buy.
