Prior to going to Best Buy (Boise) today to purchase a TV, I checked their web site to make a selection and confirm that the TV was in stock. I drove 25 minutes to go to the store to make the purchase. When I arrived, I spent quite a bit of time looking for the TV, but couldn't locate it. No on-floor assistance. I finally found an employee who was leaning up against a display rack doing nothing. He said that he would call someone to help me......nobody showed up. I found another employee who had just finished with a customer and he said that the person who was supposed to help me went to lunch. He called someone else who eventually arrived. He looked up the item in their inventory system and confirmed that they had 5 in stock. After much discussion and research, he determined that their inventory was wrong and they didn't have any of the item in stock. I told him that I would order it from Amazon and he thought that would be a good idea. The only reason that I didn't give the experience a 1 star rating is that the employee that finally showed up made a reasonable effort to help us.

I needed help with an iPad, which I'm not very familiar with at all. I wanted to buy the accessory pen or pencil that went with it. Two young smart gentlemen helped me out immediately. I apologize because I can't remember their names now. (I'm sorry!!) But, I hate shopping, and they were quick, efficient, helpful and smart. They were allso very polite and funny. Thank you for having such great employees! I will always come back here!

As far as the products they offer, best buy is amazing in selection and quality. The reason for three stars and not more has to do with customer service. I visited best buy multiple times and found I had to wander the store for quite awhile before any associate would acknowledge my existence with either a greeting or an offer to help me find anything. They all seemed too busy socializing with coworkers. Then after purchasing a laptop I had a simple question to ask about it overheating and how to keep it cool so I called customer support and could not get the automated prompts to understand me or my question so I had to take my laptop back to the store to ask for help. I spoke with someone up front about how I could cool a laptop that has its fans on the bottom of it. They didn't seem to have a solution so I returned it and went to look for a laptop that did not have fans on the bottom. The associate in the computer department was helpful in explaining that all laptops have fans on the bottom and showed me a device that goes on your lap and has fans in it to keep the laptop cool. So I went back up front and got my originally purchased laptop back. It really seemed to be such an exhausting process just to get a simple answer to a question.
